WestJet Reports Record January Load Factor of 76.2 Per Cent

Airline's strong results continue with thirteen straight months of record
load factor

CALGARY, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - WestJet (TSX:WJA) today announced January traffic
results with a record load factor of 76.2 per cent. This was accompanied by a
capacity increase of 15.7 per cent, measured in available seat miles, and an
improvement in revenue passenger miles of 16.2 per cent.
"Our strategy of seasonally adjusting the deployment of our capacity
continues to produce improved year-over-year results. We turned what was
traditionally the slowest demand period in the Canadian airline industry into
a strong and rewarding time for our airline," explained WestJet President and
CEO Sean Durfy. "Our great guest experience, modern fleet of aircraft and
expanded network are fuelling our growth within Canada as well as into our
U.S., Caribbean and Mexican destinations."
