         Airline to fly five times a week between Toronto and Cancun

CALGARY, June 4 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced it will begin new non-stop seasonal service from Toronto to Cancun five times per week beginning this December.

WestJet already flies from Toronto to a dozen U.S. and Caribbean sun destinations on a scheduled or charter basis. However, this is the first time the airline has flown between Toronto and Mexico.

"Historically, many Torontonians and southern Ontarians have chosen southeastern sun destinations such as Florida, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic for their winter vacations," said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President of Revenue and Planning. "We think flying WestJet to Mexico, and Cancun in particular, will be every bit as popular."

The schedule details of WestJet's seasonal non-stop service from Toronto to Cancun, effective December 7, 2009, are as follows.

This announcement is part of WestJet's new, expanded service from 17 Canadian cities to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. It is also part of WestJet's flight schedule for the winter of 2009-2010, which will be announced in full in July.
