Seasoned airline executive brings 23 years of experience to role

CALGARY, Oct. 7 /CNW/ - WestJet Airlines today announced the appointment of Gregg Saretsky to the position of Executive Vice-President, Operations, effective immediately.

"Gregg has been a terrific addition to our team since joining in June 2009 as the Vice-President of WestJet Vacations," said WestJet President and CEO Sean Durfy. "His vast experience in Canada and in the United States provides WestJet with the necessary expertise to deliver on our vision of becoming one of the five most successful international airlines by 2016. Gregg began his airline career with Canadian Airlines in 1986, where he spent 12 years in a variety of operational and marketing roles. Prior to WestJet, Gregg was with Alaska Airlines for nine years, most recently as Executive Vice-President, Flight and Marketing.
