WestJet to provide domestic and transborder transportation for one of the
world's oldest retailers
CALGARY, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - WestJet (TSX:WJA) is pleased to announce it is
now an approved airline for Hudson's Bay Company (TSX:HBC), one of the world's
leading retail companies. WestJet secured the landmark customer by offering a
strong value proposition and providing attractive, low-cost airfares in
conjunction with superior service.
WestJet's approved supplier relationship with Hbc allows the airline to
provide transportation and group services to all of its business travellers,
including The Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters. It also allows WestJet to
secure additional revenue by increasing market share within Hbc's domestic and
transborder business. WestJet will leverage this relationship to appeal to a
broad range of corporate business travellers - anywhere from local to
international organizations who require a low-cost flight coupled with
unparalleled service.
"Over the past 11 years, our organization has grown into a leading,
national airline carrier," said Duncan Bureau, WestJet's Vice-President of
Sales. "As we continue to expand our service reach, we become an attractive
option for many national and multi-national corporations. Hbc is one of the
most highly regarded organizations in Canada. We look forward to working with
such an iconic institution and providing them with our exceptional guest
experience and our own WestJet welcome when they board."
"Our merchants travel around the world sourcing innovative product for
our retail stores," said Robert Johnston, President, Hbc. "Our new
relationship with WestJet provides Hbc with improved prices for air travel, in
addition to the exceptional customer service which WestJet is renowned for."
