Airline expands non-stop service between Yellowknife and Edmonton
CALGARY, July 8 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced it will expand its daily, non-stop service between Yellowknife and Edmonton from seasonal to year-round as of November 1, 2009.
"The expansion of this service from seasonal to year-round is a strategic decision that demonstrates our commitment to serving this route," said Chris Avery, WestJet's Vice-President, Revenue and Planning. "As we'd hoped, the service has proven to be popular and thousands of guests from both regions are taking advantage of our market-leading fares, convenient connections to our 66-city network and world-class guest experience.
"We are also pleased to support so many events and organizations in the Yellowknife community," Chris Avery added. "As an example, we have partnered with two local community organizations to support the health and well-being of Yellowknife youth, and last month we were pleased to serve as the official airline of the YK City Quest. And, we were touched by the reception our WestJet Care Crew received earlier this spring when they performed acts of kindness across the community. We are very grateful to the people of Yellowknife and thank them for their support."
