Let the countdown begin - WestJet adds seats remaining feature to web site

CALGARY, Dec. 11 /CNW/ - WestJet today added a new feature to the booking
portion of its web site to show guests how many seats remain at a certain
price or on specific flight.
The seats remaining feature will show guests when there are nine or fewer
seats left at a fare level or on the aircraft itself. The online countdown
will not be displayed unless there are fewer than 10 seats remaining.
"WestJet is committed to providing guests with new options to enhance
their experience and the seats remaining feature is designed to help guests
plan their travel," said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President of
Commercial Distribution. "This enhancement to westjet.com will be very popular
for guests who don't want to miss a seat sale or worry about a flight selling
out. Now they will know exactly what's left, so they can make a decision."
The seats remaining feature is one of several recent enhancements made to
westjet.com. Advance seat selection allows guests to choose where they will be
seated at the time of booking, or up to 24 hours before their flight departs.
Earlier this fall WestJet added a fare finder tool that displays fares two
days before and two days after the date selected, as well as the lowest fare
within 28 days.
