CALGARY, Dec. 9 /CNW/ - WestJet today commented on the successful
conclusion of the Canada-European Union air transport agreement.
"We are pleased to see the successful conclusion of this agreement, which
will provide benefit to WestJet as more people will have access to our
award-winning guest experience," said Sean Durfy, President and CEO.
"As we move forward, we hope the government will ensure a level playing
field for all competitors," continued Mr. Durfy. "As part of this, we have
long felt that the government needs to carry out an overall cohesive and
consultative review of the taxes and fees charged to the travelling public in
Canada to ensure a healthy and competitive operating environment."
