Airline at the ready for labour unrest at Air Canada
CALGARY, Oct. 11, 2011 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced that in the event of strike action at Air Canada, it will add extra flights in order to accommodate passengers that may be otherwise stranded.
"This ongoing issue is very stressful for the travelling public and we will be ready with extra flights in the event of a strike," said Cam Kenyon, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Operations. "Our WestJetters are ready to welcome those Air Canada passengers as our guests."
Based on available aircraft and crew, WestJet will add extra flights in domestic and transborder markets as demand warrants. "October is a slower part of the travel season. With more than 53,000 seats departing daily across our 71-city network, Canadians have an opportunity to book with confidence with WestJet," concluded Cam Kenyon.
Flight arrangements can be made on westjet.com, through the WestJet Sales Super Centre at 1-888-WESTJET (1-888-937-8538) or by contacting your travel agent.
