WestJet Vacations launches a redesigned westjetvacations.com

Intuitive site offers a better guest experience and more opportunities to share

CALGARY, Nov. 23, 2011 /CNW/ - WestJet Vacations this week unveiled a new westjetvacations.com, the site responsible for providing vacation package bookings for the airline. Merging into the existing structure of westjet.com, the new site offers guests the opportunity to book both flights and vacations through a simple, intuitive and consistent website.

The site's new features include:

  • Destination and hotel guides that feature the best of each WestJet destination. From photo and video galleries to local attractions, agents you can choose, filter, compare and sort by price.
  • Intuitive mapping options that allow guests to view the location of their hotel in comparison to the airport and within the landscape of the country.
  • Social media sharing capabilities for each destination allowing guests to share their travel plans with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter.
  • An improved online booking process and the ability to split credit card payments between two cards.
  • Purchase buttons on nearly all site pages, making guest selection and booking options readily available.

In addition to these new features, WestJet's own user-generated content, Guests Know Best, will house photos, videos, written reviews and ratings about WestJet destinations and hotels from guests who've been to the area.

The launch of the site is also an important strategic milestone in the airline's ongoing efforts to improve its level of service to its francophone guests. For the first time, a French version of westjetvacations.com is now live alongside the new English site, complementing the introduction of a French WestJet Vacations brochure, now in circulation. In addition, French-speaking call centre agents are now available between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. MT seven days a week.
