WestJet reports November traffic results

Airline achieves its second highest November load factor ever

CALGARY, Dec. 5, 2011 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced November 2011 traffic results with a load factor of 77.6 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 4.4 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 4.5 per cent over the same period. The airline flew an additional 51,000 guests this November compared to November of last year.

"Achieving our second-highest November load factor, as we continued to grow capacity, is an accomplishment of which we're very proud. I thank WestJetters for their amazing energy and the care for our guests that they bring to work every day," said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.

"We are noticing a slight shift in booking patterns this holiday season with more travel spilling into January as school breaks are starting later in December," added Gregg Saretsky. "We are now expecting our projected fourth quarter 2011 year-over-year RASM growth to be between four and five per cent."
