Airline flies more than 120,000 additional guests this April compared to last
CALGARY, May 3, 2012 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced April traffic results with a record load factor of 86.2 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 8.2 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew five per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.48 million guests this month; more than 120,000 additional guests than April of last year.
"We are very happy with this new record load factor for April, which is 2.2 points above the previous high of 84 per cent in April 2010. The demand environment remains strong and we are optimistic that this positive momentum will continue throughout 2012," said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
