WestJet announces all-time record load factor of 88.4 per cent

CALGARY, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - WestJet today released August traffic
statistics, announcing a 12-year record-high load factor of 88.4 per cent.
This was accompanied by a 22.4 per cent increase in revenue passenger miles
and growth in capacity, measured in available seat miles, of 21.9 per cent.
"We are extremely pleased with our record load factor for August,"
commented Sean Durfy, WestJet President and CEO. "Our people continue to
demonstrate our ability to significantly outperform the industry, achieving
these results while growing our available seat miles and our revenue passenger
miles by over 20 per cent. The effort required to run our operations
efficiently at an 88.4 per cent load factor takes extraordinary commitment
from WestJetters.
"Year over year, we flew over 145,000 more guests this August. Our
ever-strengthening brand driven by our people is continuing to attract more of
the travelling public to WestJet. Thank you to our WestJetters who delivered a
great guest experience to a record number of guests."
