WestJet expands capacity again and is on track to become Canada's
vacation leader in Mexico and Caribbean

CALGARY, July 29 /CNW/ - WestJet (TSX:WJA) and WestJet Vacations today
announced the introduction of seasonal non-stop service to two new
international sun destinations in Mexico: Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. These
new sun destinations are part of WestJet's enhanced winter schedule, which
also includes increased frequency to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Palm
Springs, Orlando, Honolulu, Maui, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan (Mexico), and
Nassau (Bahamas) from many cities across Canada.
"Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are huge additions to our network that truly
show the progression of our international expansion into sun spots," said Bob
Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing.

Non-stop flights from Vancouver and Calgary to Cancun are operated by

approximately 30 per cent of our scheduled capacity to our 22 destinations in
the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean," said Bob Cummings. "WestJet's

years ahead."
As of November 2008, WestJet will fly to 51 destinations, 22 of which are
sun destinations in the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. By 2013, WestJet will
fly to over 65 scheduled destinations.

WestJet is adding several new non-stop routes this winter as well,
including Edmonton to Los Angeles, London to Orlando and Ottawa to Nassau.
"The addition of non-stop service is a very significant step," said Bob
Cummings. "Historically, every time we have added a new non-stop route, we
have significantly increased the number of guests traveling from the
originating city to that destination. Our guests truly appreciate being able
to travel non-stop."
