Airline flies a record 1.6 million guests in the month, up 5 per cent
CALGARY, June 4, 2014 /CNW/ - WestJet today announced May 2014 traffic results with a load factor of 79.0 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 4.8 per cent year-over-year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 4.1 per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.6 million guests in May, a year-over-year increase of 5.1 per cent or more than 77,000 additional guests.
"We are very pleased with our continued strong year over year traffic growth as a record number of guests in May chose to fly with WestJet," said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
